Terms of Service for ExtraFokus.eu
Last updated: October 2026

These terms govern your use of extrafokus.eu. By using the site you accept them. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

ExtraFokus.eu and ExtraFokus.com are two editions of the same independent publication, run by the same company and edited by the same editorial team. The company is registered in Bulgaria under number BG800139731, with its address at Lazur 8001, Burgas, Bulgaria. You can reach us at [email protected]. The same terms, editorial standards and press ethics apply on both sites.

2. Using the site

The site is free to read. You may use it for lawful purposes only. You must not try to break or overload the site, bypass its security, scrape it in bulk, or use it to spread malware, spam or unlawful content. We may block access for anyone who does.

3. Our content and copyright

The articles, images, graphics and design on ExtraFokus are protected by copyright and belong to ExtraFokus or to the creators we credit. You are welcome to quote from our articles under the usual rules on fair quotation, as long as you credit ExtraFokus and link back to the original. Anything beyond that, including republishing whole articles, translating them for publication, or systematic copying of the site, requires our written permission. Ask us at [email protected].

4. Editorial independence, use of AI and corrections

ExtraFokus is funded by donations and memberships. No advertiser, sponsor, member or donor can buy, change or stop a story. When we get something wrong we publish a correction at the top of the article. See our Disclaimer and our page on ethics and independence for the details.

ExtraFokus uses artificial intelligence (AI) as a working tool in its editorial work, for example for research, for organising sources and as help in drafting and editing. AI does not replace editorial responsibility: the editorial team decides what is published and answers for it. Our page on ethics and independence explains how this works in practice.

5. Accounts, comments and submitted content

If you create an account, keep your login details safe and give us accurate information. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

If you send us a comment, an opinion piece, a tip or other material, you confirm that it is yours to share, that it is not unlawful or defamatory, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. You keep the rights to your own work. By submitting it for publication you give ExtraFokus a non-exclusive, free licence to publish, edit for length and clarity, and archive it on our sites. We decide what we publish, we may remove content at any time, and sending something does not guarantee that it will appear. For sensitive tips, use the secure tip page instead of the comment form.

6. Memberships and donations

Support for ExtraFokus is voluntary. There is no paywall and supporting us does not buy influence over our reporting. When memberships open, the planned prices are 8 euros per month or 79 euros per year, and you can also give a one-time amount. Payments are handled by external payment providers such as PayPal, and we do not receive or store your card details. You can cancel a membership at any time, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Donations and payments are not refundable unless the law requires it. Your rights as a consumer under mandatory EU and national law, including any right of withdrawal, are not affected by these terms.

7. Links and embedded content

We link to third-party sources and sometimes embed their content. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or how they treat your data.

8. Information, not advice

We work hard to be accurate, but errors can occur and the situation described in an article may change. Nothing on the site is legal, financial, medical or other professional advice. Check important facts for yourself and consult a qualified professional before you act.

9. Limit of liability

The site and its content are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, ExtraFokus is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury, or removes your mandatory rights as a consumer.

10. Privacy

How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. We never sell your data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms. We will announce material changes on the site or in the newsletter.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Bulgarian law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live and may bring a claim before the courts there. Before any formal step, please write to us at [email protected] so that we can try to solve the problem.
